The TP/Experience ratio here is pretty good, and a lot better than that found in the KOS-MOS Simulator Part II. Staying here to level up just a little is probably a good idea, especially sense KOS-MOS's stats increase faster than usual for the first few levels. There are no items of any lasting consequence to find in this area.

After some nice cinematics, you'll finally gain control of Shion. Talk to KOS-MOS, and select "Switch to real combat" if you are already familiar with the battle system. Otherwise select the other options to go through tutorial battles. After you have the real combat, the game goes to another cinematic.
When you gain control again, you'll find yourself in some "ancient" 20th centutry ruins. Head left first and go up the ladder.
Blow up the red barrel first, then the door, go inside the building and take out the drones. Inside the treasure chest you'll find two Med Kit S- nothing too special. Go back down the ladder, then up toward the Battle Drones. Defeat the first group of enemies, then head down the stairs to your right.
Detonate the truck, then ascend the steps on the right, head downward, destroy the door, and go inside to pick up a whopping single med kit (pretty much a waste of time).
Defeat the next group of enemies. Your objective is to get through the big door next to the stairs, but you'll need the mission key to get in. So, for now, just head up the stairs on your right. You'll find a door that won't seem to open. And, of course, the mission key is the blue flashing light on the other side of that door (if only you could break through the window). You'll find another enemy up here, and if you time it right, you can detonate the red barrel when he walks by it.
Take the bridge by the red barrel that heads downward. After destroying two boxes, you'll obtain a revive. Then head back to the red barrel. If you want to gain another level or two before the TP/Experience ratio drops, head right in order to backtrack and defeat enemies that you've already defeated. Otherwise just take the path to the left, go through the door, and get ready for your first A.W.G.S. battle (be sure to use some Med Kits before the battle if you need to). Follow the walkway to the platform, where you will enter a forced battle with a Drone SPX.
