Calm after the Storm
Shin sat up still staring at the crystal ball and tilted his head. Hmm...maybe the Z fighters are awake, I could go visit them
Shin thought. He peered into the ball and clearly he was still asleep, judging from the huge bubble coming from Goku's nose.
"Eww...now really, that's disgusting." he muttered to himself.
He quickly changed the image and checked up on Jamie, who was outside sitting in a tree with a book.
Shin decided to pay her a visit and teleported to her house.
Jamie yawned lightly and looked up from her book to see Karr being chased by two pre-k super saiyans.
She laughed out loud and yelled "Hey Trunks and Goten, go easy on him ok!"
Both of them laughed as they jumped on his back and knocked him to the ground.
Jamie shook her head and looked back to her book, she felt someone looking at her and glanced up to see Shin hovering right in front of her.
It took her by surprise so she lost balance and grabbed onto the tree quickly.
"I'm very sorry Jamie, I didn't mean to scare you..." Shin said.
"Oh, uh thats alright Shin, I just didn't expect you to come here."
"Is it a bad time? I can come back later if you wish." and he hovered back to the ground.
Jamie blinked and hopped down from the tree near Shin. "No its fine, I could actually use some company."
She smiled softly trying not to blush as Karr and Trunks whizzed past them.
Goten stopped and looked up at Shin. "Hey its Mr. Shin! I thought you were gonna die!"
Shin smiled down at Goten. "Well I might have if it werent for everyone's help."
Goten ran in circles around Shin and Jamie then finally cought up to Karr and commenced the chasing.
Jamie looked to Karr and put a hand on her hip. "They come over all the time, Karr sure enjoys it..which is odd because he's not very social." She smiled.
Shin glanced at Karr then back to Jamie. "So how did you come accross a friend like him?"
"Oh, well it's kind of a long story but, when I was slightly younger I found him all beat up and chained to a wall in some kind of dungeon. I was being held prisoner there at the time so eventually I got him fixed up and we made our escape...that's the short version." She looked back to Shin to see him smiling. "And after that he vowed to protect me forever...he acts more like my dad."
"Amazing...it seems you've had your share of adventures, i'd love to hear more about them some time."
Jamie laughed some "Of course, and I wouldn't mind hearing of yours too."
Shin blushed and nodded.
"So why exactly did you come? I thought the ruler of the universe would be pretty busy." she smirked.
"Haha, well not exactly with Majin Buu gone and all...and it's kind of lonely up there now." he looked down.
Jamie tilted her head and could feel his sadness. "I see...Kibito didn't make it...I'm really sorry about that."
Shin lifted his head and tried to smile, but clearly it still hurt him. "That's ok Jamie, it's not your fault, he should have been more careful..."
Jamie felt really bad for bringing up the subject at all. She looked at him trying to hide his sadness and almost felt like crying.
"Shin, it's alright, if you ever feel lonely, you can come and see mee..." she said and walked towards him.
Then she put her arms around him and gave him a hug.
Shin being startled by this blushed like crazy forgetting how sad he was and put his arms around her.
Meanwhile Karr, Trunks and Goten peered from the bushes. Both saiyans started to giggle as Karr tried desperately to make them stop.
"Hey you two, be quiet, you'll embarass them.." Karr whispered as best he could.
Jamie took a step back hearing the two giggle and she blushed and looked up at Shin who was blushing just as much as her.
"Thank you Jamie, for cheering me up, its nice to have someone to talk to again."
"You're welcome Shin, anytime." she giggled a bit to herself which made Shin blush even more.
"What are you giggling about?" he lifted a brow wondering what it was.
"I was just thinking you looked a lot cuter without the black dust." she smiled.
Shin smiled back and laughed. "Well thank you." Shin bowed to her and looked sorry that he had to go so soon.
"I'm sorry Jamie, but I need to check into something now, I'll come visit you soon ok?"
Jamie nodded her head yes and gave him a light kiss on the cheek. "Alright, you do that, and be careful ok."
"Yes I will..." Shin blushed once again and phased out of sight.
Jamie couldn't believe what she just did and sat down beneath the tree thinking. What's this feeling I have every time I see him...I can't make my face stop getting red.
Karr walked up next to her with his arms behind his back. "Well...Jamie are you finally falling in love?"
Jamie jumped up and put Karr in a headlock. "What did you say!"
Karr just stood there. "Errr nothing..."
I think I really like Jamie, I get a strange feeling when I see her. Something makes me want to be around her...could it be love?... Shin thought as he arrived on Grand Kai's planet and walked toward the building.
