Thursday
All the fellows arrived until 20.00
o'clock, beside Marwan and Jawad, who came only on Friday, and beside Alon and
Ortal, who came not at all. And we had also a visit, from Nahida from Holland,
a journalist, who lives for a while in Jerusalem, in order to write a book. She
remained until Friday.
So, the meeting with an excellent
dinner, that prepared Michal as always for us, began.
21.30 rites
Last time, we made something to the
topic religion and tradition (see december report), and the general mood was, that the issue is not
interesting, because anyway nobody is religious. We wanted to find out, whether
we could create together, Jews, Christians, Muslim and atheists, alternative
rites, that corresponds us.
Afek and Amir runned a beautiful and
short rite to the memory of the victims of the sea (and only in looking back,
it became clear for the two how highly relevant the matter is!!). The second
ceremony was essentially longer, a rite of harmony, and at a point, we had to
break off the matter
Friday
Breakfast
After the Breakfast,
we prepared masks. (Photos

All divided in
couples and prepared gypsum masks. The preparation of gypsum masks is a particular
experience, that I recommend to everybody. Anyway, I recommend most activities,
which I describe here.
12.00 a tour of
Ramle, especially in the Schuk/Suk (photos 030-035) The tour was the repeated
wish of Javier and Michael which are from the north of Israel, and we thought,
we would eat also in the city. But nobody was really hungry after the huge
breakfast, and so we went again "home" (to the Open
House) and made rehearsals for the evening.
Then, theater exercises followed until the supper, some
under my direction, some Jawad’s - oh yes, friends, sorry - I didn't introduce
Jawad to you. You can see him above
behind Afek, the young woman with the hands in the pockets, speaking with me,
but here he is clearer:
This is my new partner, after Mussa left.
21.00
o'clock:
Our already traditional theater evening (photos 050-065)
All five
scenes were scenes from three Israeli plays, which deal with the national
conflict here.
Javier Amir
and Hila Ofir
and Afek
Michael and Javier played the governor and
the mayor from the cabaret "the patriot" of Chanoch Lewin, a play,
which was prohibited by the censorship at that time, (1982). Amir and Hila, and
Ofir and Afek played two dialogues from the "Palestinian" by Sobol;
Meissan, Marwan and I two scenes from "veiled” (Ilan Hatzor).
Saturday
After the
Breakfast, we played a while with the white masks before we continued to work
on them. (Photos

To the surprise of all, the short scenes with the neutral
mask were very good although nobody had experience with this type of theater
previously.
Afterwards, all began to work on the mask with scissors
and brushes, to give each mask an individual character.
After the lunch - two exercises that emphasizes awareness
and attention, and we finished the long weekend with another improvisation with
all together. A group improvisation is especially difficult to do because
everyone has to be very aware and sensitive to the other.
Ofir: "Thanks for another weekend full of theater,
that frees me for another month.”
Meyssan: "The third day was better than the first
and the second, because at the third day, there was a good energy.
A small discussion broke out about dishwashing and about,
whether a list should be produced, who has to wash when, or not. Marwan said he
doesn't do the dishes if he is not asked to do so.
At the end, we tried to find a week to fly to Austria
according to all high school exam dates, but it seems it will be possible only
after the 15. July.
Furthermore we
have to think about the performance at the activism festival, which will take
place this year in Lod.
