About the Society

Sweet Home Genealogical Society Seal

The mission of the Sweet Home Genealogical Society is to bridge the gap between generations. Our members strive for the preservation of our heritage, both for historical as well as educational purposes. To do this, we archive the past as well as the present, and preserve those archives for future generations.

The Society was established in 1975 with 15 members and has grown to our present membership of over 80 members.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in Genealogy. A quaterly newsletter is mailed to all members and to over 25 societies and libraries.

Meetings are conducted on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10 am in the Mealey Building at 13th and Kalmia streets, in Sweet Home.

The Society also hosts an annual workshop the 3rd weekend in March.
