Welcome to Dr. S. Shahverdiyev's personal page. He is a theoretical physicist. His main research interest is the unification of all fundamental interactions.

Recently, he has proposed a unified model of Electromagnetism and Gravitation [1] in the framework of General Geometry (formulated by him in [2]). It reproduces Electromagnetism and Gravitation and predicts that electromagnetic field is a source for gravitational field. We hope that this prediction will be confirmed by experiments. This theory is formulated in four dimensional spacetime and does not contain additional fields.

A new geometry called General Geometry including Riemannian geometry and geometry underlying Electromagnetism, as special cases is constructed in the second paper. He has shown that Electromagnetism can be reproduced exactly from a new geometry called Geometry of Electromagnetism. Maxwell equation and action functional for electromagnetic field are derived from geometric characteristics of this geometry. The equation for geodesics in this geometry coincides exactly with equation of motion for a particle interacting with electromagnetic field. It is also proven that electromagnetism cannot be geometrized in the framework of Riemannian geometry.

In paper [3], relations between quantities defining geometry and quantities defining the length of a curve in geometries underlying Electromagnetism and unified model of Electromagnetism and Gravitation are found and it is shown that the length of a vector changes along a curve in these geometries.
