What is a submissive?
A submissive is considered to be the equivalent of a bottom in the D/s relationship. The submissive individual has a desire to give him/herself to the control and guidance of another with as little or as much reservation as s/he so chooses.
Submissives can set a list of rules, boundaries, requirements or limitations as to how far their submission will go. S/he will set these limits prior to engaging in the D/s relationship and can adjust them through out the relationship with that Dom/me, usually limits are changed due to growth in both parties.
Prior to engaging in a relationship with a Dom/me, the submissive and his/her Dom/me should  go over all of his/her limits, and gain a full understanding of all expectations in the relationship, and from each other.
Lastly, I would like to say, that a submissive is not a "doormat" to be stepped on or an object. A submissive is a human being with rights, feelings and emotions.
