| The Importance of Patience |
| In the D/s lifestyle, in power exchange relationships, things can move very fast, especially online. It can also be very exciting when entering a new relationship. The submissive or slave will usually be very eager to learn all that his/her Dom/me requires and will want to do everything - right off the bat. |
| It is important that one paces themself from the very beginning, so as to enable a total understanding of everything involved in the relationship, about that Dom/me and even about the lifestyle itslef. If someone is in a hurry to learn the next thing and just brushes somthing off or doesn't pay attention to it, s/he may find him/herself wondering "what is this?" or "what happened?" later on down the road. |
| Patience is a learning experience, it can teach the submissive or slave how to be well mannered and proper in different situations. For example, you would never see a Queen rambling on and on and jumping from one thing to the next, while asking a million questions that can answer themselves in due time. This how a Queen presents herself as elegant and graceful. Even speaking and learning requires patience, which (in ways) shows manners, respect, and even beauty and elegance. |
| Patience also denotes a tolerance for certain things and situations. Both individuals in a D/s relationship have to realize that there will be things that the other does not enjoy or agree with, but will need patience to show respect for that person's situation or activity whatever that may be. |
