Rating: G Brief Summary: Like most animes, this one begins with a normal boy, Mamoru, who just happens to have been brought to Earth by a giant mechanical lion. Living with his foster parents in G-Island, he finds himself caught in a battle between the lion and a giant junk robot. The lion combines with a cyborg called Gai, and further combines with a bullet train, a stealth jet, and a drill machine to form GaoGaigar, the king of braves. It then proceeds to open up a big can of woop-ass on the evil robot. Just when he has its core and is about to crush it, Mamoru swoops in on his brand new wings and stops him, turning the core back into a human. Comments: Reviewed By: Kur0Nek0Chan!! Episodes Watched: ALL Storyline: 5/5 :Hidden beneath all the mecha battle action, 45-minute long transformation sequences and child like ideals of good and evil are solid plot lines and a decently logical explanation of everything. While it is similar to the previous yushao series' plots, Gaogaigar is clearly the last and best creation, defining an ideal that anything can be blown to pieces if youre brave enough. Art: 5/5 :I've always loved robot anime because of the beautiful transformation sequences, and Gaogaigar provides this in abundance. The robots have evolved far more than the old transformers, with each part drawn in proportion to every other part. The Gaogaigar itself is horrifyingly impressive, with an _expression of utmost victory and ferociousness. Also noteworthy are the female characters in the series, while always downplayed in other series, are drawn all too sexy for a children's anime. Music: 3/5 :The wide variety of musical styles, from the exciting rock opening to the vocal gospel of the final Golden hammer, fits the anime nicely, but isnt anything new or impressive. Extra: The last of the best, published 1997, it is still the defining landmark and final masterpeice... Overall Score: 4.5/5 Yushao Gaogaigar Final Creator: Sunrise Studio 7 Total #Episodes: 8 Episode Runtime: ~30min Rating: PG-13 Brief Summary: One year after the events of Gaogaigar, Gai is still hard at work for GGG. This peaceful existence is interrupted by the return of Mamoru, legacy of the green planet, who is trying to find the parts of the PasQ machine.. and he will stop at nothing to get them, even blowing up his friends. Final takes the plot of Gaogaigar to whole new adult levels, with perverted enemies and yet-more-sexy female crew members, and a generally much more abusive attitude for characters and mecha. It does become a mite repetitive, however. Art: 5/5 :Anybody want to see people naked? Final revamped all of the mecha transformation sequences, plus brand new ones for the Gaofighgar, TenRyuJin and Genesic GaoGaiGar, it really is very pretty. Music: 4/5 :It has gotten a whole lot more ear-candy than the original, with pumped-up versions of the theme song and a gospel Genesic combination track. Extra: OMFG!!! EYE CANDY!!!!
