"I wouldn't say they're the best team in the East. I mean, they've got the best record, but I still think we're still the best team in the East."
-- Allen Iverson, in the New York Times, on not being sold on the Nets
Quote Of the Moment:
AI got his touch back as he scored 46 off 15 of 30 shooting to get job done over the Cavs, 85 to 76. Sixers are 7-1 this season when AI scores 40. The win puts them in 5th place in the East, and they're slowly and steadily climbing up the ladder. Ty Hill still wishes he was with the Sixers.

Prolific Pair Power Philly Past Pacers
The Sixers trailed with 3:27 to play, so Allen Iverson and Matt Harpring did something about it. Iverson tied the score on a three-pointer, then delivered a behind-the-back pass to Harpring for a fast-break layup. After Indiana tied it again, Harpring's jumper with 1:40 to play put Philadelphia up for good as the Sixers scooted to a 109-100 home victory Friday. Iverson scored
41 points and Eric Snow added 25.  More

Sixers Storm Back From 20 Down
Down 20 in the 3rd and with Deke ejected, Sixers believed they would win...and they did. Sixers roared back from a 20-point deficit, to
topple the Knicks 104 to 96. "Last year's team would get down 20, 25 points, and we still felt like we could win. That definitely was the case tonight," AI said. He finished with 35 off 12-of-28 with 7 assists. All this without Mutombo, who got ejected in the 3rd.

Philadelphia led by five after three quarters, but Sacramento stormed back in the final period as the
Sixers fell 92-88 Wednesday at home. Allen Iverson paced Philly with 32 points and Dikembe Mutombo posted 14 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks.

Iverson banged up ... again
Allen Iverson missed practice on Friday, which is nothing new. But he had somehow suffered a sprained wrist during the Sixers' loss Wednesday to Sacramento, and the grimace on his face revealed the pain. Iverson said that he should be able to play Sunday when the Sixers host the Orlando Magic at noon. That is a good bet. "Right now, just knowing that I want to play, I probably will play," said the all-star guard, who removed a makeshift splint from his wrist while talking to reporters at the Sixers' practice facility at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. "It doesn't feel like it'll keep me out of the game, but I don't know."

A.I. flirts with 40 again
Allen Iverson missed practice on March 15, which is nothing new. But he had somehow suffered a sprained wrist during the Sixers' loss to the Kings on March 13, and the grimace on his face revealed the pain. That said, Iverson still scored 39 points on March 17 against the Magic -- but the
Magic prevailed 105-103. In the loss to the Magic, the Sixers were without forward Matt Harpring and guard Aaron McKie. Harpring, who along with Dikembe Mutombo had started every game, had a stomach virus. McKie, winner of the Sixth Man award last year, has missed 20 of the last 23 games because of a left ankle sprain.

To Miami and Back
Sixers played the Heat in back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday. The
beat the Heat in Miami on Tuesday in an ugly 91-79 win. A.I. started off an ice-cold 1-of-7, but lit up in the 4th as he pumped in 33 points in 47 minutes. Wednesday was different story, as the Heat got their revenge in 82-77 win. A.I. finished with 38 points off 13-of-30, but got no help from the rest of the team. With DC out with his torn knee, the bench needs to step it up if they want win.

Tough break: Iverson out 4-6 weeks
NBA scoring leader Allen Iverson could miss the rest of the regular season and the playoffs after
breaking his left hand March 22 against the Celtics. Iverson is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks with the injury to his non-shooting hand, diagnosed by X-rays taken at New England Baptist Hospital after he played the entire first half of the 76ers' 96-91 victory. Iverson, last season's NBA MVP, sat out the second half when Philadelphia rallied from a 50-45 deficit. "The kid is playing as good as anyone in the league," said coach Larry Brown. "You just don't replace him. We've all got to do a great job."  More on Iverson breaking his hand.

Sixers make a positive stride as they beat the Knicks without Iverson 90-82. My belief is if the Sixers can hold on to a playoff position then AI will return in the playoffs, but if the are struggling then AI will force an early return.  More

The Nets got their revenge on Wednesday night beating the Sixers 88-80.Eric Snow had over 20 points for the 2nd straight game. Iverson should be back right in time for the playoffs.

The Philadelphia 76ers didn't need Allen Iverson or Derrick Coleman to beat the hapless Chicago Bulls. With Iverson out with a broken hand and Coleman sidelined by a sore knee, Eric Snow and Speedy Claxton provided the scoring punch as Philadelphia coasted to a 99-79 victory Thursday night. Eric Snow scored 24 points and has averaged 20 in the three games since Iverson was hurt. More

McKie Looks Marvelous
A loss would've dropped the Sixers from fifth to seventh in the Eastern playoff race. Aaron McKie wasn't about to let that happen. The veteran guard forced overtime on a 17-foot jumper with 19 seconds left in regulation, and then scored eight of his 22 points in the extra stanza as Philadelphia
beat Phoenix 89-83 Wednesday at home. Matt Harpring had 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Sixers, who climbed within 1 games of fourth-place Orlando.

The Pistons won on the road for the 16th time in 19 games, 92-88 over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.Matt Harpring had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Eric Snow had 16 points, Derrick Coleman and McKie each scored 15 and Dikembe Mutombo grabbed 14 rebounds for the Sixers, who have lost three of four.Philadelphia is now 3-12 this season without Allen Iverson, who is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with a broken left hand. The 76ers were also missing guard Speedy Claxton, who will miss five games due to a concussion. The Sixers had a chance to tie in the final 20 seconds, but McKie's layup was blocked and Mutombo lost the ball out of bounds after momentarily grabbing the rebound. The Sixers vehemently argued that Mutombo got fouled, but there was no call."It was a clear foul, I don't know how else to describe it," Mutombo said.

Even without Allen Iverson to contend with, the Milwaukee Bucks continued their losing ways on the road.
Aaron McKie scored nine of his team-high tying 15 points in the final seven minutes and Derrick McKey played the role of stopper down the stretch as the Philadelphia 76ers posted an
89-87 victory.
10/Apr
Unlike the fast-fading Milwaukee Bucks, Dikembe Mutombo didn't have back-to-back bad games.Mutombo scored 11 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and grabbed eight rebounds in the Philadelphia 76ers' 92-90 victory over Milwaukee on Tuesday night. While the Sixers, just 5-12 in Allen Iverson's absence, inched closer to securing a playoff berth, the Bucks (39-38) slipped into a tie for seventh with Toronto, two games behind Philadelphia. Eric Snow had 14 points and 9 assists, Mutombo scored 22 points and 8 rebounds, Aaron Mckie scored 16 points, Coleman scored 12, and Harpring scored 16 points with 10 rebounds also.

    ~I'm Back!!!
Sorry I haven't been updating lately....I've been really busy. The site will be updated from now on!!~
First, the sixers lost to the Wizards 90-77. Eric Snow had 26 points and Matt Harpring had 7 rebounds.
Next, The Sixers beat the Wizards for revenge 100-91.Mutombo had 24 points and 16 points.
Then The Sixers beat Orlando in a good game 95-89. Snow had 22 points and Mutombo had 12 rebounds.
For the second straight year, the Chicago Bulls probably cost the Philadelphia 76ers home-court advantage in the playoffs. The Sixers lost to the Bulls 98-96 on Monday night. The Sixers fell a half-game behind Orlando for the No. 4 spot in the Eastern Conference. The Magic hold the tiebreaker -- a 3-1 record against Philadelphia this season -- should the teams finish even. "Of course home court is important in a five-game series, but I'm not going to make guys play when they are hurt," Sixers coach Larry Brown said.Eric Snow scored 21 and little-used Jabari Smith added a career-high 14 for the Sixers, who could finish anywhere from fourth to seventh in the East. But Snow missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would've won it.
