The Rajbari of Krishnanagar was built by Raja Rudra Roy (1683-1694).The first Rajbari included the Chowk & The Nahabat Khana apart from the main Building.Later,Raja Krishnachandra Roy Added the Bishnu Mahal & the Puja Mandap.The Rajbari was renovated several times during the subsequent rulers.The Rajbari is surrounded by a deep moat.

Main entrance of the Rajbari. Just inside lies a cannon presented by Lord Clive to Maharaja Krishnachandra for his support to the latter in the war of Plassey (1757).The war in which the British defeated the Nawab of Bengal,Siraj-ud-daula.






The delapidated "Nahabat Khana".Here the maestros used to play Shehnai, the Indian Flute during dawn & dusk & in other occations.





Intricate designs of the Rajbari Pujamandap.Most
of it has been destroyed due to lack of maintenance.
