Gekigo, Arashii
E-mail: Foweryam(at)comcast.net Character Information House: Teacher
Appearance: Arashii, of weak Japanese descent, often pulls the kung-fu sensei look with inherent ease. His eyes are the strong almond shape typical of the Japanese, and his iris a hard ink color that turn obsidian in good light. Aging and wizening his eyes are crowfeet that are apparent all the time, but stand out strongly when he smiles or shows disapproval. Wide cheek bones, small nose, medium sized lips, and strong eye-brows all add to the sensei look. His hair, however, has something else in mind. Cut raggedly at two to three inches Arashiis hair has never stayed in order for its entire life. As a child it made him look cute, as a teen it made him look hip, now it castes the allusion of roughness, almost like a lions mane. His skin in unblemished, his only wrinkles being that at his eyes, and tanned to a healthy brown from time in the sun. He only stands five feet five inches, however the height limitation has never been a limitation on his strength. Although he holds a wiry strength many cannot outdo, he also has incredible speed, a must when one deals with animals for a career.
Notable Traits: Grouchy and gruff, dislikes know-it-alls and people unwilling to work, likes being alone with his animals, adaptable to situations (not an apparent feature), has a tendency to swear. Personality: Many would like to assume Arashiis bark is worse than his bite, in fact many believe without a doubt that thats how it really is, but thats simply because theyve never seen him actually sting. Hes not afraid of being blunt, and will reprimand anyone who makes an error, even fellow teachers. Some think strength comes from physical statue, but if theyve met Arashii some come to realize that sheer emotional strength can handle any situation and come out ahead. His personality appears introvert, but being a teacher requires him to be an extrovert, ever adaptable, he can take charge and handle any situation when needed. In order to get his class done as effectively as possible he is gruff to his students, but often one of the top favorites for his simple ability to see the truth in most situations. He favors students who lack book smarts, but are willing to work hard to improve and learn, as well as students who are in tune with themselves to the extent that they can rely on their own instincts to deal with animals. However, who he favors and who he doesnt favor are rarely evident in his teachings, he is just as quick to reprimand a favorite student for an error. The one positive side to all of his grumpiness is he rarely, rarely, rarely gets mad, and has never held a grudge in his entire life. Theres not much to his personality, it simply what it is, and although he adapts to situations he does not do so by changing his personality. Tact is something for wussies. History: Raised by his father in Alaska, Arashii was quick to find his friends in animals, and by the time he was a ten he was exploring the wilderness by himself. His father was a genius doctor that, although disapproved of Arashiis wild adventures, never failed in giving his soon support. Arashiis relationship with his father has always been one of mutual understanding that was only tested briefly during Arashiis teen years, and otherwise remains unshaken. To this day, every Saturday he writes a letter home. As a child he was unaware of the magical world, his father being a muggle, and his mother having left before describing the wizarding world she was from. However when Arashii turned 13 he was exploring in his usual wilderness wanderings when he came across a Sasquatch (Big Foot). At first he was astounded, but soon came to accept that some legends are more than myth. A Sasquatch is, after all, simply a rare animal. By sheer force of will Arashii managed to get himself in contact with the magical world, and soon convinced his father to send him to a wizarding school in the bowels of Canada. Since his education he has traveled the world, taking jobs where they are available and making a living where he can. For a good five years he lived in England and managed to attach himself to the British way of swearing, although he does occasionally slip back into American often. Finally, about 10 years about he stumbled across Shastina during a summer he had dedicated to exploring California, and promptly moved in, knowing by the simple state of the animal life that there was not a mythical biology teacher in the school.
