Recently, I discovered some free online sermons by
Ray Comfort. I was delighted with this gentleman's sense of humor, and his unique approach to bringing people closer to Christ. One of his free sound clips is called How To Find Gods Will For Your Life. For the first time, I heard a no-
nonsense, simple, and straight forward answer to finding God's will.

In essence, the recording states: God commands us all to spread His news.
Thats His will for your life.

Wow, I thought. I havent been doing much of that, really.

Im a writer by trade, and for a long time, Id thought about putting together an email newsletter of devotionals or comments on the Biblebut I felt inadequate (Im not a minister! I thought), and I didnt exactly hear Gods voice saying, Kristina, you shall send forth an email.  But Ray Comforts simple sermon pointed out the error of that thinking.

So while I am not an ordained minister, I am a long-time, Bible based Christian, and one who has studied the Bible and Bible study guides extensively. And if Im stumped on a question someone asks, I will always pray about itand probably ask the advice of my dad-in-law,  who
is an ordained minister!

So now you know where I'm coming from.

Your Editor,
Kristina

For those who wish to know, here are my beliefs about God and the Bible:

The Bible
The Bible is the inspired and the errorfree word of God. (
2 Tim. 3:1517, 2 Pet. 1:21)

God
There is only one God, although we perceive Him in three different ways: The Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. (
Gen. 1:1, Deut. 6:4, Mat. 28:19, John 10:30)

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God (
John 3:16). He is a part of God (John 10:33). He was born of a virgin (Mat. 1:23, Luke 1:3435), and lived a sinless life (Heb. 4:15 and 7:26). He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, and rose from the dead, appeared to more than 500 people, and ascended into heaven (John 11:25, 1 Cor. 15:4, Mark 16:19). He will return in the end times to conquer evil (Acts 1:11, Rev. 19:11-16).

Salvation
Salvation cannot be earned (
Rom. 11:6, Eph. 2:9). The only way to be saved from eternal death is by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he died, and was resurrected in order to save us (John 3:16-19 & 5:24, Rom.3:23 & 5:8-9, Eph. 2:8-10, Tit. 3:5).
