Glittering stars Brown, O�Malley, Willmot and Pramberg
Brown, David O�Malley, and Bodie Willmot, won the major trophies at the club�s 23rd annual awards before a large crowd at Indooroopilly�s Pig �n� Whistle. Brown received her second consecutive club ladies best and fairest award, having already won both the Australasian and Queensland awards this year, and just weeks after returning from the womens rugby world cup in which she became the first Australian in either the mens or womens game to score a hat-trick on debut. She finished the year as Shamrocks leading scorer with 11 goals 20 points, including a personal best of 3-4 in a single game. David O�Malley, a defensive wall and Australasian All-star, became the first player in a decade to win the Shamrocks mens best and fairest award without needing to kick a point. Bodie Willmot, 16, won the coveted Minors best and fairest award in his first year of Gaelic football, scoring one senior goal, and cementing a regular place in the senior team. John Collins became the first-ever two-time winner of the mens most consistent award, having won the trophy previously in 2003 and despite returning this year after 12 months out of the game. Kirby Short is only the second player to win two awards in the one year when she won both the ladies best first year player, and most consistent player awards. Wayne Gallagher in his first season with Shamrocks, finished as sixth leading scorer and won the mens most improved award, while Cameron Thirlway was named the mens best first year player. Kylah Johnston made it two awards in just two years of football, adding the ladies most improved trophy to the best first year accolade received last year. Western suburbs local Bernie Pramberg won the best newspaper article media award, with his feature �The Irish love their footy� published in the Courier-Mail back in May. The national Irish Echo and south west newspaper The Satellite won the media awards last year. Shamrocks� Jack Dixon won the Australasian Best & Fairest under 18 player award at the championships, and was named in the Australasian All-star team for the second consecutive year. Shamrocks� Tricia Brown � just back from the Womens Rugby World Cup in Canada and having recently won the Queensland Gaelic Football�s best and fairest award � was named the Australasian Best & Fairest womens player for the second time in three years. Brown was also selected as an Australasian All-star for the third consecutive occasion. Joining Dixon in the Australasian All-star under 18 team were Nick Black (also for the second time), Kent Delbridge, Martin Morgan, and Kieran Canning. 09 October 2006 - SHAMROCKS Gaelic Football Club is welcoming home its representatives from this month�s Australasian Championships at its 23rd Annual Awards Presentation at the Indooroopilly Pig �n� Whistle on Friday 20th October. Thirteen western suburbs Shamrocks represented Queensland at the Championships, with the senior mens and minor mens both playing in semi finals, and the ladies team finishing runners-up for the second consecutive year. Cameron Carney, Justin Mosch, Laurie Bere, Jack Dixon, Nick Black, James Mitchell, Nicholas Fels, Troy Randall, Jacqueline Peacock, Nicholas Carpenter, Kim Clist, Bronwyn Bassett, and Tricia Brown, all represented the state in Perth that finished over the weekend. Shamrocks� Best and Fairest awards for senior mens, ladies, and minor mens, will be presented at the Pig �n� Whistle function, as well as players medals and more. All players and supporters are invited, as well as representatives of the media. The function is scheduled for 6:30pm for 7:00pm start.

01 October 2006 - QUEENSLAND is hoping for a return to the glory days when Shamrocks� senior coach Jacqueline Peacock guides the state junior mens team at the Australasian Gaelic Football Championships in Perth this week. Peacock led Queensland ladies to an undefeated Championship in 2004, two years after fellow Shamrock Glen Carpenter coached Queensland ladies to its inaugural Australasian title in 2002. This year coach Jacqueline Peacock has teamed up with manager Nicholas Carpenter, father of Glenn, in a western suburbs� bid to win Queensland the under 18 mens Australasian Championship. Queensland play hosts and last year�s runners-up Western Australia in its first match this Thursday morning. The final is on Sunday.
Queensland won three consecutive Australasian junior mens titles back in 1998-1999-2000 back when Shamrocks were winning local championships, and then-Shamrocks president Harold Peacock was in the midst of three years as Queensland state secretary. Auckland has won two championships, and South Australia three, in the five years since that Queensland run of success. Brisbane�s western suburbs Shamrocks club will welcome home Queensland�s Australasian players at its 23rd Annual Awards presentation at the Indooroopilly Pig �n� Whistle on Friday 20 October.
