Shamrocks mens player Glenn Carpenter was the Queensland ladies coach, with the team beating Western Australia and Victoria, losing the semi final by a solitary point to miss an historic final berth. Mary Kelleher, Renee Moynihan and Jacqueline Peacock were named in the Australasian team, Jacqueline for the second time. Shamrocks in the Queensland squad were: Kirsten Geary Mary Kelleher Patricia McGirl-Duell Renee Moynihan Jacqueline Peacock Emily Sangster Shamrocks players Jacqueline Peacock, Angie Doyle and Louise O'Neill were in the Australasian team that won the 2000 World Cup in Ireland, beating North America in the final in extra time. They were: Sean McAlinden Paul McNally Harold Peacock Billy Rockett Minors - The Queensland Minors team won the Australasian Championship for the second consecutive time, and included one Shamrock: David Gall Ladies - Four Queenslanders were named in the Australasian all-star team, three of them were Shamrocks - Angie Doyle, Jacqueline Peacock and Louise O'Neill. This was the third time that Louise had received Australasian all-star selection.
