You and your three other buddies will work independently and as a group
to get your presentation ready. First, you must decide who will play
what role in your new team. Each role takes a particular strength.
Listen to each other and work together to make the strongest presentation
possible.

|
Now take some time to discuss who will do what job in your team.
You will need to come up with a fair and reasonable solution. Please
remember to refer to the Criteria Chart we developed in class. |

1. Locate a blank US Map on one of the designated links. Print
the map. Color in each state that has a NFL franchise one color and
the states without a team in another. Make sure to mark each state’s
capitol and every city where a team is located. Make a key for your
map so that it is easy for everyone to see. Please refer to our Criteria
Chart that we developed for this project. You may want to use this
in your presentation, so do your best work. 2. With your teammates, research possible sites for your franchise. As GM you are looking for the best overall site. You must help bring to consensus the rest of your team by using the organizational chart you developed with your fellow GM’s. 3. As a team, chose your city and state. Mark it on your map. 4. Write a letter persuading the NFL to allow you to have the franchise in the city you chose. 5. Work with your team to develop the final presentation. You will need to decide on the style and type of presentation. As GM, you will be doing most of the presentation; however, each of your team members will also need to take part. During this phase of the project you need to be meeting with each member individually and as a group. You will need to give them any kind of support they need. This is a critical time for a General Manager as you will be deciding what type or combination of media, you would like to use for your presentation. ![]() |

As a Marketing Director, you are looking for a place you can sell. Is there something that you can use for an ad campaign to hook fans into coming to the area. San Francisco is a famous tourist destination. What does the area you’re looking at have to draw people to it? Use your graphic organizer you put together in your Marketing Director Training, to analyze each state. 3. As a team, chose your city and state. Mark it on your map. 4. Write a letter persuading advertisers or vendors to support your team. 5. Ok Marketing Director, are your creative juices flowing? You will be in charge of creating a mascot for your team. A mascot must somehow be tied to the city, or state where your team is located. It must be scary enough to sound intimidating, or cute enough to create fans. The choice is yours. Also, you will need to create a cheer or a song for your mascot. There is nothing worse than a mascot with nothing to do. ![]() |

As VP of Player Personnel, you will need to find players who will want to play in the state you have chosen. Most people like to live close to where they grew up, or went to college. You will need to find out where the players you want most lived while they were growing up and where they went to college. Your state must be only three states away from one of these two places. Use the graphic tool you put together with the other VPs during your training to organize your thoughts. 3. As a team, chose your city and state. Mark it on your map. 4. Write a letter persuading a player to come play for your team. 5. You’ve got your state and city; it is now time for you to pick your line-up. Remember the criteria we discussed before. Each player must have either played college ball, or grown up within three states of your chosen site. You need one player for each position. You also want your team to be able to win. So, pick the best player that fits the criteria. ![]() |

Are there enough hotel rooms? Is there a large enough population to support a team? Are there any NFL teams nearby, or any big college teams in the area that will compete for the fans’ money? 3. As a team, chose your city and state. Mark it on your map. 4. Write a letter to the city persuading them to allow you to have a franchise team in their city. 5. It’s all about the money with you. You will need to figure out what the vendors will sell at the stadium. Are there any foods that the locals will expect to see at the ballpark? Every state has a particular food that it loves. If you forget to include it, you are doomed. Make a menu for the concession stand, and while you’re at it, make a list of items for the vendors to sell. Do you think they sell a lot of sweatshirts in Arizona?
