Mandarin

Well I have been learning Mandarin it�s a form of chinese that is used mainly outside of hong kong and I find it really hard to learn it on the net because some people have made mistakes on there web site so I am here to fix that.

 first of all they use different tones so heres a little key.

if the word has :-   / it means  it�s a rising tone

                  \ it�s a falling tone

                  \/ it means it risies then falls

                  - it�s a flat tone

lesson 1

    lets learn there numbers

 1 =  yi- 2 = er\ 3 = san-  4 = si\ 5 = wu- 6 = lui\ 7 = qi-

 8 = ba- 9 = jui- 10 = shi/ 11 = shi/ yi- 12 = shi/ er\ 13 = shi/ san-

 20 = er\ shi/ 21= er\ yi- 22 = er\ er\ 30 = sar- shi/

Lesson 2

 Welcoming

 Ni\/ hao\/ = Hello

 Ni\/ hao\/ ma\ = how are you

 bu\/ ki\ qi\ = you are welcome

 ni\/ = you

 fa/ jin- = fine

 gan\/ xie\ = thanks

 di/ xie\ = to express one�s thanks

 shing- bing\ = ill

 mei\/ hao\/ = happy + ok

 Hao \/ = good

 zai\ jian\ = good bye

Now try with a friend if you can make a conversation using them words

 Lesson 3

 Colours

 cang - = blue

 chi \ = red (be worned it also means naked :> )

 huang / se /\ = yellow

 cheng / = orange

 hei - = black

 bai / = white

 zi \/ = purple

 he \ se \ = brown

 hui -  = grey

 lu\ se\ = green

 lesson 4

 Asking

 hui\ = can >be possible, be able to, to assemble, to meet, to gather, to see              

 shen/ me = what

 he/ ren/ = who

 na\/ = how

 na\/ yi- ge = which

 he / = who, what, why, when

  ( Remember theres different way of saying it  )

 na\/ shi\ ni\/ = another way of saying how r u
