Introduction
Led Zeppelin is, without a doubt, one of the most influential entities in rocks history. This groundbreaking band released of their self-titled debut album in 1969. With a blend of blues and heavy guitar riffs, the imposing songs on this album amazed many.

Synopsis
The album opens up with the very catchy Good Times Bad Times. This song is a good representation of what to expect with this album: powerful vocals and lyrics, heavy drumming, and great guitar and bass riffs. Oh, and not to mention some awesome solos courtesy of Jimmy Page.

Babe Im Gonna Leave You starts off with a soft acoustic intro, but as the song goes on, the instruments get heavier. Plants vocals are excellent in this song. He sings the lyrics powerfully when the song gets to the heavier parts. This song is definitely one of the highlights of the album.

You Shook Me opens up with a memorable guitar riff, and great vocals from Plant. This is a very blues-influenced song. As Plant sings, the guitar riff matches his vocals, resulting in a very cool effect. Theres a great harmonica solo here too.

Dazed And Confused starts off as a slow jam, but then builds up into a powerful song. Theres some great bass riffs and powerful drumming here, and Page delivers one of his best, if not the best, guitar solos on the entire album during the awesome instrumental section.

A haunting organ intro starts off Your Time Is Gonna Come, and then the song goes into a slow, mellow jam. This song has an infectious chorus. The song fades right into Black Mountain Side.

Black Mountain Side is an interesting instrumental featuring an acoustic guitar and Tabla Drums courtesy of Viram Jasani. The mix of these two instruments ends up with a unique sound.

Communication Breakdown features some of the faster playing on the album. Powerful drums, a good guitar solo, and catchy lyrics are what make this song a good one, albeit its a little short.

I Cant Quit You Baby is a slow, bluesy song. Page delivers a great, long guitar solo that really blends with the song really well.

The final song on the album, How Many More Times, is the longest song, stretching to over eight minutes. The beginning of the song isnt too interesting, but towards the end of the song, it starts picking up and gets really good.

Highlights
Babe Im Gonna Leave You, Dazed And Confused, Communication Breakdown

Bottom Line
While Zeppelins debut album wasnt as refined as their later efforts,
Led Zeppelin is simply a great album and was a sign of even better albums on the horizon.

Final Grade: B+
