Harold Shackelton Obituary
Harold Shackelton, 78, of Cutcheon Road, Missaukee County, (Michigan) died Tuesday, October 23, 1979 at Mercy Hospital. he had been in poor health for several weeks.
Mr. Shackelton was born in Independence, Iowa, on December 3, 1900. The family moved to Minnesota then to Missaukee County in 1910. They settled on a farm in West Branch Township. Mr. Shackelton lived for a year in Ontonagon County where he married the former Esther Trebithick in 1925. he was a life-long farmer and carpenter.
He was a member of the Stittsvill Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald of Grand Rapids and Gordon and Douglas of Lake City; two daughters, (Winifred) Mrs. Harold Wagner of Me. Pleasant and (Elaine) Mrs. Ardis Vance of Lake City; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City. The Rev. Eugene Baughan and the Rev. Eugene Wetzig officiated. Burial was in Stittsville Cemetery.
