The "Unconnected" Family Lines

John Shackleton and Elizabeth Kay Family; This family is the 6th Division; 6th Section of The Shackletons book. Many thanks to Dave Shackleton for sending me the information on this family along with a picture of John and his daughter, Gertrude. Please check out the picture page for more pictures of this family. Also, would like to thanks Gail Claydon, the family historian for this family for all the research and assistance that she has provided to others. John was called Jonas in The Shackletons book. Norman Blocksage (a descendant of this family) letters were included in the Shackleton Newsletters.

These "unconnected" family lines were included in The Shackletons book and also in the newsletters. They are families that we have not been able to connect to the American Shackelton/Shackleton's. Bernice always paid great attention to these families as she was attempting to find the connection between the families. I also will pay great attention to these families. If you should know someone who descends from one of these lines, PLEASE let them know that I would like to make contact with them!

Francis Kossuth Shackleton and Anna Johnson Family; This family is the 6th Division; 1st Section of The Shackletons book. Many thanks to Dave Johnson and Cindy Corwin for helping me with updates and additional information with this family. Francis birth place is unknown.

George Shackelton and Ella Moravek Family; This family is the 6th Division; 2nd Section of The Shackletons book. Bernice and Oscar Shackelton felt that this family might have been connected, they attended the family reunions of this family and could see a strong family resemblence. George came from England and Ella was born on a ship enroute to the US from Czecho-Slovakia.

Thomas and Elizabeth Shekleton Family; This family is the 6th Division; 3rd Section of The Shackletons book. Thomas was possibly of Banbridge Co., North Ireland; I have no contact with this family, but would love to make a contact; Please email me if you could help!

Ernest Shackelton and Emma Ford Family; This family is the 6th Division; 4th Section of The Shackletons book. Ernest was of Ashton-under-Lyne, England, after marriage they went to Montreal, Canada. They moved to Bridgeport, Conneticut in 1908. Thanks to Ian Shackleton for helping me update this families information.

John Francis Shackleton and Mary Frances Unknown Family; This family is the 6th Division; 5th Section of The Shackletons book. John was b. 22 December 1821 in Yorkshire, England and d. 12 July 1858; he is buried in Harrison County, Missouri. They came to America some time between the years of 1846 and 1848. They first lived in New York and then moved west to Illinois. Venus Lyons was a direct descendant of this line and her letters to Bernice are in the Shackleton newsletters.

Stephen Shackleton and Susan Ann Waymire Family; This family appeared in the Shackletons Newsletters (Volume 1, No. 16 and Volume 1, No. 23) I felt that this family should appear here in the unconnected families instead of just the Newsletters. There were many references to this family in the newsletters (Knapp, Wisconsin Shackleton family). Also be sure to check out their family obituaries.

Abraham Shackleton and Mary E. Wallace Family; This family appeared in the Shackleton Newsletters (Volume 1, No. 14). I felt that this family should also appear here as well as in the Newsletters. If you have any additional information on this family please contact me.

John Shackleton and Anna Catherine Ault Family; More information for this family is appreciated so if you can add anything PLEASE contact me and I will forward your email onto the contact person for this family. John Shackleton and Mary Wadsworth Family; John was born in Wadsworth, Yorkshire, England while Mary was born in Heptanstall, Yorkshire, England. Many in this family ended up in New Zealand, this is our first connection there! This families information was sent in by Eric Shackleton (many thanks Eric!!) Any additional information that can be provided would be great!

Jonas Shackleton and Hannah Pricilla Bancroft Family; this families information was sent in by Lou Shackleton (thanks Lou) He refers to his branch of Shackletons as the Philly Shackletons, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! Any additions and/or corrections would be great!

William Shackleton and Elizabeth Rothwell Family; William was born in 1797 in England and went to Ontario, Canada where he died in 1828. Some in this family also went to Michigan. I have arranged this family through some information that I found on message boards and through one descendant that I currently do not have a correct email address for. I would appreciate ANY and ALL help that anyone can supply for this family.
