Harold Leslie Shackelton Family
Harold Leslie Shackelton is the youngest child and only son of Jennie Estella Shackelton and Luman Shackelton. Harold moved with his family from Iowa to Minnesota then on to Virginia, back to Minnesota and then finally to West Branch Township, Missaukee County, Michigan in 1910. Harold lived on the Shackelton farm in West Branch after his parents passed away and built the "little house" for his sister, Olive on the farm.

Obituary of Harold Shackelton:
Harold Shackelton, 78, of Cutcheon Road, Missaukee County, died Tuesday, October 23, 1979 at Mercy hospital. He had been in poor health for several weeks.
Mr. Shackelton was born in Independence, Iowa, on December 3, 1900. The family moved to Minnesota then to Missaukee County in 1910. They settled on a farm in West Branch Township. Mr. Shackelton lived for a year in Ontonagon County where he married the former Esther Trevithick in 1925. He was a life long farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Stittsville Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald of Grand Rapids and Gordon and Douglas of Lake City; two daughters, (Winifred) Mrs. Harold Wagoner of Mt. Pleasant and (Elaine) Mrs. Ardis Vance of Lake City; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City. The Rev. Eugene Baughan and the Rev. Eugene Wetzig officiated. Burial was in Stittsville Cemetery
