Fred Charles Shackelton Family
Fred Charles Shackelton was the fifth son and the youngest child of Jacob Wintermute Shackelton and Ethalinda Gere. Fred and his wife, Clara, moved to Buffalo, New York in May of 1892. Fred worked as a conductor on the Lehigh Valley Railroad at the beginning of its operation, he retired in 1925 and moved to Elmira, New York. Clara taught school at Mills, Pennsylvania. She is a descendant of Henry Whitney of Conneticut, John Rockwell, Poole and Thurston.
