Over the past few years, the SGVAC chapter has been involved with donation-giving San Gabriel Valley YWCA-WINGS (Women In Need Growing Strong). YWCA-WINGS has been a leader in the domestic violence field for years.
Our chapter has gathered together many items needed by the women and children, such as: socks, toilettries, used clothing, and used household items. On an annual basis we also hold a Spring/Summer garage sale to raise funds for them. We also try to help with the festivities of Christmas, Easter and Halloween by putting together toy and goodie bags for the children living at the shelter, and for those who are a part of the outreach program.
This past Christmas 2002 we donated several gift certificates and toys to the shelter to help fill stockings.
