BLUE MOUNTAINS TRIP
    5 NCC cadets were be selected to go to Sydney, Australia for the Blue Mountains Expedition. They would hike to the summit of the mountains where they would set their base camp.The expedition consists of intense hiking, rocking climbing, canoeing etc. Legs would be sore but the satisfaction cannot be put into word. Most importantly, the values of teamwork, care for fellow cadets, the leadership qualities obtained and the moments of going through fire and water togather is simply priceless.

History of the name

In 1788 the Blue Mountains were originally named "Carmarthen Hills" and "Landsdowne Hills" by Governor Phillip, however, it wasnt long after, that the distinctive blue haze surrounding the area saw the change in name to the Blue Mountains.
The Blue Mountains is densely populated by oil bearing Eucalyptus trees. The atmosphere is filled with finely dispersed droplets of oil, which, in combination with dust particles and water vapour, scatter short-wave length rays of light which are predominantly blue in colour.
