Susan Carr & Rodney Seaforth
Susan has been dancing for over twelve years, and teaching for over eleven. She has competed nationally and regionally. In 1998, she placed Second in the New England Swing Dance Championships and, in 1999, placed First in the Intermediate Division, as a leader! In 1999, Susan established "Suzie-Q Swing Productions," a dance company which focused on establishing a lindy hop community in southeastern
Connecticut. Within her career as instructor, organizer, producer and promotor of dance events, Susan was fortunate enough to work with dance greats including Damon Stone, Peter Strom, Lia Jordano and the incomparable Frankie Manning. In 2000 and 2001, Susan brought Frankie to Connecticut, where up to 300 dancers from 10 different states attended. In 2002, Susan traveled to the U.S. Open with the Carol Fraser's Manhattan-based dance team "Thunder Puss," where the team
took 4th Place in the Team Division. Recently, Susan has focused on building her law office business, and now teaches specialty classes, when she has the opportunity.

Rodney has been dancing swing since the Clinton administration. He has been to countless workshops and camps and has spent many hours on the
social floor. Not an active competitor, but a self-described perpetual student of the dance. Over time, he has gained numerous insights and "tricks of the trade" that would be useful for new dancers.

Tara Weinstein & Jason Arenburg
Jason and Tara have been dancing and teaching in the Providence, RI area for several years. They are regular contributors to Providence Swings, a weekly dance collaborative whose mission is to spread the joy and instruction of swing dancing. They can also be found dancing, teaching, learning, and performing at other events and groups around the country. Although they started dancing at different times, both quickly became hooked on the music and the sheer joy of the dance, and draw on their backgrounds in athletics, other dances, physics, and simple quirkiness for inspiration. Although they both enjoy many styles of dance, Jason and Tara have a particular passion for Lindy Hop, Charleston, and Balboa. www.providenceswings.com www.taraweinstein.com

Words Daryl lives by: "My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi."
-from the movie "The Jerk", 1979

Todd Schmenk & Beth Donahue
In 1998, horrified at the thought of doing nothing but the "Chicken Dance" at their wedding, Todd and Beth began what would be the first of many swing dance classes. They became so enthralled with swing that when they moved to York, PA in 2000, they created a swing dance scene which has continued to thrive even after their move to Providence, RI. They also discovered a talent for teaching and performing, racking up hundreds of hours of instructing experience as the head instructors for York’s Urban Swing Dance Club.

Todd and Beth have traveled to various parts of the country as guest instructors, not just teaching dance, but also teaching people how to build a successful dance scene. They had the honor of teaching a scene building class at Swing Out New Hampshire 2006, a renowned dance camp devoted to the preservation and development of swing dance..

Besides teaching Todd and Beth do occasionally compete and perform. Most recently Todd earned 3rd place in the Open Jack and Jill Division of the 2006 American Lindy Hop Championships and both performed last summer at Waterfire Providence. They are most proud, however, of their young students back in York, PA who captured 1st and 2nd places in the Junior Division of the 2005 Virginia State Open Swing Championships, as well as their performance team, HoodleAddle, which placed 2nd in the same competition. www.zazouswing.org
