Welcome to the Southern New England Swing Collaborative Website!

We are happy to announce our first annual event, the Midsummer Swingout Workshops and Dance.

Providence Swings, Shoreline Swing, Swinging 88s, Vinnie's Jump and Jive, Hepcats, and Zazou Swing are participating in this joint event to help bring local swing dance communities together through affordable workshops and an evening outside dance.

We are very excited to have our workshops and dance at the YMCA Camp Shepard, located in Greenville, RI. The event will take place on August 9th 2008 from 10am-midnight. There will be five great workshops, ranging from a beginner East Coast Swing workshop, “Swing 101”, to a challenging beginner/intermediate East Coast Swing /Lindyhop workshop, “Count 6 to 8 to 6 & Back Again”!

While you’re at the camp, you are welcome to enjoy the grounds and the lakeside beach! Picnics are encouraged!

Following the workshops, we will be hosting an outside dance with the local hot New England Swing band, The Shiny Lapel Trio.
