The Student Government Association is the group of dedicated student leaders that represents RCC's student body on various committees such as Public and Safety, Campus Improvements, and Student Activities Board. We ensure that RCC students' needs and concerns are met. This body oversees over a half a million dollars in Student Activity Fees that are allocated to various clubs and events on campus. The Student Government Association, or SGA, is comprised of 6 Executive Board members, 10 Sophmore Senators, and 10 Freshman Senators.
Duties and Responsibilities of Executive Board:
President:
- Chairs every senate meeting, serves as parliamentarian
- Upholds and enforces the Constitution
- Co-chair of Publicity and Election Committee
- Establishes agenda for Senate and Executive Board meetings Vice President:
- Assumes duties of president in president's absence
- Oversees all committees
- Consults matters regarding the Constitution
- Chairs Blood Drive Committee
- Chairs Constitution and Oversight Committee Secretary:
- Keeps minutes for seante and E-Board meetings
- Handles all correspondence
- Monitors senator's office hours
- Co-chair of Publicity and Elections Committee Treasurer:
- Chairs Budget and Finance Committee
- Keeps all receipts and reimbursements of the Student Activities
Budget and oversees budget of over $500,000
- Establishes agenda for senate and E-Board meetings Board of Trustees Student Representative:
- Student voice of RCC's Board of Trustees
- Serves as a voting member at BOT meetings
- Presents detailed reports to the SGA after each BOT meeting
- Chairs Campus Improvements Committee Student Activities Board Chairperson:
- Plans and organizes all studnet activites on and off campus in
coordination with Studente Activities Board Advisor
- Reports to the SGA after SAB meetings and oversees the
student clubs/organizations
Duties and Responsibilities of Sophmore and Freshmen Senators:
Complete a senators project each semester and complete (2) office hours a week during their term in office
