Vice Admiral Johnathan Simmons
Commanding Officer

Serving STARFLEET for nine years, Vice Admiral Johnathan Simmons is better known as "Gumby" throughout the fleet. Since being promoted to the rank of Captain by none other than Patrick "Jean-Luc Picard" Stewart in 1992, Gumby has went on to earn a lot of really cool awards that he keeps under his bed in the same box as his ex-girfriend's head.

The Green One has distinguished himself in the area of STARFLEET Shuttle Operations having the distinction of holding the Vice-Chief of ShOC office for a record 3 times in addition to being the only officer thus far to serve as ShOC for 2 regions (R3ShOC 92-96 and R4ShOC 98-Current.) His shuttle projects S.T.A.R.T (Shuttlecraft Training And Recruitment Techniques) and M.O.M. (Mothership Operations Manual) have become the ShOC standard operating protocol for starting and sponsoring a STARFLEET Chapter due largely to the help and input from many fleet folks over the years.

Vice Admiral Gumby is no one special but serves as the new Commanding  Officer of the USS STORMBRINGER. In the real world, Gumby is a Graphic Artist and a Chef in his spare time. He also runs our Ship's Store at:

Commodore Dave Pitts
Executive Officer

Commodore Dave Pitts joined SFI in April 1993 after being assigned to Yokota Air Base, Tokyo, Japan, Region 16 with the US Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. He found an established shuttle on base (Shuttle HENRI' DUNANT named for the founder of the Red Cross) and participated in the chapter taking OTS and OCC, writing the chapter's Technical Manual and Engineering Creed (which is in use today by SF Academy's School of Engineering)

Later on "Lt Commander" Pitts served as Chief Engineer aboard USS HENRI'DUNANT,(sister ship to the former USS VINDICATOR, not the current one) Afterwards, "Commander" Pitts served as XO of the HENRI' DUNANT and soon after as her Commanding officer. As Commanding Officer he participated vigorously and kept the chapter alive by encouraging crew wide recruitment and training. Leading by example, Captain Pitts took the newly offered Flag Officer's School passing all three parts with honors.

At this time Captain Pitts had already paid attention to the word "International" in Starfleet International by becoming sister-ships with USS VINDICATOR from Denton, TX and joining as a Klingon crewman aboard IKV HAVOK out of Evansville, Illinois. It was a bonding that would save his life later as he was critically injured after the destruction of the HENRI at the hands of the Romulan Empire on a classified stardate. To save his life members of the HAVOK command crew donated their DNA and thus, "Hech baH" Klingon for,"prepare to fire" was born.

Hech baH's drive and determination is fueled by a sworn blood oath to investigate and punish those Romulan operatives that planned the coordinated co-destruction of his ship and tragically, USS VINDICATOR's as well. Mindful of his new Klingon heritage, and respectful of his past alliance with IKV HAVOK, Hech baH joined HOUSE VESKA in Denver, CO and has raised "Hech" ever since.

Upon returning to the United States in 1996 Captain Pitts was assigned to Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona. Being in Region 4 he signed aboard USS PEACEKEEPER and remained a part of the crew until approached to CO a fledgling shuttle named STORMBRINGER in November 1997. On October 31, 1998 Shuttle STORMBRINGER became a full chapter and has carried herself with honor since that date. During this time Captain Pitts was promoted to Fleet Captain. In August 2001, Fleet Captain Pitts stepped down as CO, and assumed the position of Executive Officer.

It should be noted that STORMBRINGER was formed at the time primarily from members of the first USS VINDICATOR and USS HENRI' DUNANT from Japan as both Mednoughts decommissioned about the same time. "Out of the ashes of despair and grief old chapters don't decommission, they just reform." This motto was proven once again as members of a decommissioning chapter approached STORMBRINGER in May of 2001 and asked for Mothership shuttle coverage.

Now, after 21 years of active duty with the US Air Force, Dave has retired and is "working" (HA) as a civil service employee. "Flaptain" Dave brings his drives, enthusiasms and sick humor to the STORMBRINGER hoping to keep the Galaxy (and neighboring regions) safe from the rest of our crew...yeah right!

PS: Romulan conspirators beware, Hech baH is an Honor Graduate of the Klingon Warrior Academy...he will find you, and when he does the last thing you will ever see, as your green blood congeals with fear, is the Hand of Hech baH.
