What do members provide?
Every level of musician is welcome to come and join us. So dust off that old instrument case and come out one Thursday night!
As a member of the South Fraser Community Band, you are asked to participate in ensuring that the groups livelihood and reputation are protected. This means:
Paying annual membership dues of $200.00. This may be paid semi-annually, quarterly or monthly. These dues are required to cover operational and equipment costs, such as rent, fees, music stands, food, etc. If your pocketbook is empty, speak to the Treasurer and dues will be disregarded until such time as you are able to contribute. This will be kept confidential.
Participating in fundraising events. Money, over and above membership dues, is required to by music, uniforms, travel expense and other related items. Fundraising events include concerts, raffles, dances, casinos and whatever else we think will be a money-maker. New ideas are always welcome!
Attending rehearsals on a regular basis. If you have to be away, please inform the conductor or your section leader. Concert attendance is especially important - the group depends on you.
If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to make our group more successful and happy, feel free to speak to anyone on the executive.
