Well, I had a couple WLS moments in and around my accident on Monday.

#1 Before the accident while still at school, I was talking to a fellow classmate, and she burst out with "Man, Mickey you have really lost some weight since this summer." I asked her if I had told her about my surgery (I've told several of my fellow grad school students about it), and she said that she didn't know about the surgery. She then told me that the diagnostician at her school had the surgery this summer as well (a couple weeks after me), but she is having some problems. She again told me how I great I looked before I left.

#2 During the accident, a cute guy put his arm around me to calm me down, and I didn't jump 3 feet away from him or even tense up. Before the surgery, I would have at least tensed up b/c I was so conscious about being too fat around guys and letting them get close to me, much less touch me.

#3 At the hospital, the nurse asked my height and weight. When she asked my height, I started to say 5 feet 1-1/2 inches, but I had to stop and correct myself to say 5'2". I explained to her that I had grown 1/2 an inch recently. When she asked my weight, I couldn't remember how much I weighed (even though I weighed myself that morning), so I started to say 200 something. Once again, I had to stop and correct myself. I turned to Joy and laughed saying I was so used to saying 200 something when DR's asked my weight. This is when Joy explained to the nurse that I had gastric bypass surgery this summer. I finally was able to remember my weight (166) and told it to the nurse.

#4 I've lost 2.4 pounds since the accident on Monday. Maybe the accident jolted my body into starting to lose again. Hope this keeps up at least until I get below 160.
