1. Seafood - crabs, shrimp, crawfish, tuna salad, sea trout, tilapia; I marinade the fish in Worcestshire sauce and Mrs. Dash. 2. Chicken - usually with McCormick's original seasoning on it, but I will eat it just about any way as long as it tastes good; Chicken Salad is also good. 3. Nuts - pecans, peanuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pistachios. 4. Cheese - queso, cheddar, parmesan, etc; put on any and everything I can think it will taste good on 5. Tostada from Taco Bell - traveling food; I don't eat the chip, though. 6. Quaker's Low Carb Mini Cheddar Rice Cakes - high protein, low carb. 7. Pork Rinds - not really sure if these are the best for me, but they satisfy that craving for crunchy stuff. 8. Steak - marinated in Worcetshire sauce and Montreal steak seasoning. 9. Fajitas - beef and chicken, but usually beef. 10. Skippy's Low Carb Peanut Butter - usually on a celery stick; sometimes on a low sodium Ritz cracker; sometimes just a spoonful by itself. 11. Worcestshire Sauce - well, I had to add this one b/c it has become my new best friend since the surgery. I marinade everything I can in this stuff b/c it adds a great flavor and helps keep it moist. From Sandra Groner 1. Fish - grilled salmon and tilapia. 2. Crab legs - the reason I like crab legs is because it FEELS like a lot of food but it actually isn't. I can sit at the table and crack crab legs and have something to do while everyone else eats. 3. Yogurt - CarbSmart blueberry is my favorite. 4. Cottage cheese and peaches in juice, not in heavy or light syrup. 5. Shrimp. 6. Grilled Chicken. 7. Deviled Eggs- great for protein! 8. Bananas and berries -great for potassium and I am a firm believer that berries clean out your system (helps keep it balanced and is great for your skin too) These can be berries of any kind (blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc.) I do not dump on natural sugar and consider fruit and integral part of my diet. Not sure if that is for everyone, but this is what I do. Proceed with caution. 9. Rotel dip � I make this at least once a week. I try to cut as much fat as I can. But I just worry about the carbs rather than the fat so much. Cheese, Rotel diced tomatoes and seasoned lean ground meat or turkey. I put them on some spicy pork rinds because they are also low in carbs. 10. Pork skins � one or two big ones for a snack. I like the spicy ones best. From Leslie H. 1. Shrimp - I marinate salad shrimp in lime juice, Tabasco, and other stuff and keep it in the fridge. I eat it in a fancy little glass bowl with cocktail sauce for meals or snacks. Yum! Makes salad shrimp (which is less expensive than fresh shrimp but often either flavorless or too fishy-tasting) taste great! If anyone wants to know exactly what I put in my marinade, let me know and I'll email it to you. 2. Turkey jerky. 3. Cottage cheese with pear chunks. 4. Pistachios. 5. Nachos (fat-free refried beans, shredded cheddar, and salsa on Tostitos corn chips). 6. Hard-boiled eggs--Sometimes I make quick egg salad by mashing a chilled boiled egg up with a fork and adding a little ranch dressing, a dab of sweet pickle relish, and some onion flakes. It's great all by itself or with a piece of whole-wheat toast. 7. Meatless ribs--Sounds nasty, but they're actually quite good! High in protein but made entirely out of veggies. I buy Veggie Patch brand, which I find near the tofu in the produce section at Wal-Mart. 8. Turkey pepperoni, cooked on a paper towel in the microwave until crunchy--satisfies the urge for something salty and crunchy. 9. Soy nuts. 10. Chicken salad or tuna salad from the deli at the fitness center I go to--good stuff and it's half-price after 7 p.m. From Attitude N. Texas 1. Catfish and tilapia usually grilled or blackened. 2. Shrimp cocktail or cold boiled shrimp at home. 3. Chicken (anyway I can get it). 4. Steak (usually every Sunday after church hubby grills for us.). 5. Eggs (I eat an egg almost everyday for breakfast). 6. Cheese (I can't remember a day I hadn't had cheese since surgery). 7. Bacon (almost every morning w/ that egg). 8. Nuts for snacking. 9. Cottage cheese. 10. Salads. From Sassy Samara 1. Chicken - I eat it almost every day and try lots of different spices and seasoning for flavor...I like it grilled or roasted in the oven on low for a few hours. Very tender and moist. 2. Cheese-all kinds- String Cheese, Havarti, and Mozzarella are my favorites and easy to have on the go. 3. Deli Meats. 4. Chili or Beans cooked in soups and stews or alone. 5. Nuts (soy nuts, pistachios, pecans, sunflower seeds). 6. Lamb. I love braised lamb in stew with brown rice and lots of steamed veggies too. 7. Eggs (deviled, boiled, egg salad with crackers, and scrambled in a cheese omelet with some cilantro and onion). 8. Jerky. 9. I love PICKLES...they are low calorie no sugar and fat free snack. Good for the munchies! 10. Fresh fruits or veggies with low cal dips and sauces. From Elizabeth S 1. Chicken - anyway, but a favorite kind is rotisserie from HEB, I like Cajun flavored. 2. Shrimp - scampi, brochette, grilled, - fried (I know, bad) . 3. Protein shakes (I have one almost every morning) - Nectar fuzzy navel, Matrix chocolate...mmm, good stuff. 4. Lettuce. 5. Broccoli. 6. Natural peanut butter (it has no added sugar and no hydrogenated fats). I like it just on a spoon or with a square of sugar free chocolate as a treat. Sugar free fudgecicles also make a nice treat. 7. Beef Fajitas with some spoons of pico de gallo on the side and lots of jalape�o....I can tolerate a lot more heat than I could before...even without drinking at meals....it's weird. 8. Roast beef - I cut one in smaller pieces and put a hunk in the crock pot in the morning and eat off it for a week just about. 9. Salami. 10. Chorizo con Huevo (Mexican sausage and eggs). I had this for breakfast while I was in Mexico over thanksgiving....mmmm, good. From J P 1. Sugar free Jell-O with whip cream. 2. Breakfast Jack (no bun) from Jack in the Box (almost every morning). 3. Momentum low carb/high protein bars. 4. Cheez-Its or white cheddar popcorn (I don't want to hear it!). 5. Celery stuffed with peanut butter. 6. Cheese. 7. Deli ham. 8. Chicken. 9. Watermelon. 10. Michelina�s low carb frozen entrees (any variety). From Anne Boyle 1. Carne guisada - able to use cheaper cuts of beer when you let it simmer for a good 2 hours. 2. Crunchy tacos (homemade) and yes - I eat the taco shell. (Don't want to hear about it!) 3. Chicken fajita meat - have to marinate it really well though as I tend to have a tough time w/ chicken 4. Concentrated protein from GNC (granted - not a food - but a mainstay for me!) 5. Cheese - any type, any kind 6. Sara Lee�s low carb bread toasted (actually have 6 or 7 grams of protein!) 7. Migas with cheese 8. Mixed nuts without peanuts (as I hate peanuts) 9. Enchiladas - try to pick around the tortilla as much as possible 10. Spaghetti without the noodles (Meat sauce basically). From Cecil Norris 1. Grilled chicken breast as spicy as I can get them. 2. Grilled steak cooked medium. Don't like them too dry. 3. Pinto beans cooked with a can of Mexican Rotel with cilantro. 4. Nuts - Mixed nuts or peanuts. 5. Coffee with half and half and Splenda. 6.
