The freakiest part about last night is that I knew this was going to happen. I've been waiting for it to happen for about 2-3 weeks (really bad head hunger and nervousness), and I was REALLY nervous all day Monday but wasn't really sure why. About 5 minutes before the accident, I had just hung up with Mom saying that if I called her b/c my car was floating down the street, she was going to have to come get me (it was rainy really bad, and the streets were partially flooded). She said today that she could tell I was nervous about driving that night. As my car started to go out of control, I was thinking, "Well, I guess this is what I was waiting for." As the car drove into the median, I was thinking, "Please, God let me stop before I get to the other side of the road and get hit," but I knew that I was going to get hit anyways. After my car finally stopped and the air bags went off (I covered my face with my arms and closed my eyes to keep the smoke out of my eyes), I was VERY surprised that I wasn't hit, at which point, I got hit by the 18 wheeler. After that, I scrambled to find my purse and get out of the car b/c I was worried that it might catch on fire or something. While standing in the freezing cold rain, I watched the 18 wheeler start to drive off, and I was really upset b/c I thought he was leaving (hit and run) - I didn't know what to do or how to get help; it didn't even occur to me to try to get his license plate number. Fortunately, though, he was just moving over. I just stood there in the freezing rain waiting for the man in the 18-wheeler and the cute guy to come to me. I kept saying to myself, "Get out of your truck and help me! Please, come over here and help me. Please, help me." And they finally did come check on me. The cute guy from the other truck was very sweet and helpful in calming me down :-) I'm going to see if I can find out his name and number (from the accident report) so that I can send him a card saying thanks. He left after the police arrived w/o me even realizing it :-(
