Clarity

There can be no inspiration to live and grow in awareness to Truth without the presence of God in your life. To seek and feel Truth you must seek God. So often I find that when I desire to gain a deeper understanding of an issue, all I must do is view it through the eyes of the Spirit and almost instantaneously it is made clear for me. Understand that it is made clear for me and not that I am able to see it for we cannot see Truth without God for it belongs to Him.

I also remembered some teachings I learned at Cornerstone Fellowship. We learned that we should now become aware of when we are the weakest and most susceptible to temptation. I personally know that I struggle with gluttony when I am hungry, impatience when I do not understand, lust, and fear of persecution in many forms. In dealing with our own struggles we must also know how to avoid situations which tempt those sins. And when we are faced with those temptations we must remember the teachings of Jesus so that we may be encouraged to choose Truth over sin

Jesus has asked us several times to serve one another with love.  I found that during the Last Supper, He conveyed this message in a very powerful way:

[Luke 22:24-30]  "A dispute arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest. Jesus said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. You are those who have stood by me in my trials. And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

I have also recently thought deeply about the Catholic tradition of communion.  During Catholic mass at the end of the service the tradition of the Breaking of the Bread is performed.  During this ceremony we pray that the host and wine may become the body and blood of Christ.

I asked myself, why do we do this?  During the Last Supper Jesus I do not believe Jesus said that when you do this in memory of Me to pray that the bread and wine you share becomes me.  I believe we should pray for the guidance of His Great Will for we do not always know His Will.

I further contemplated the act of what Jesus was doing and realized that He is giving the bread as His body representing sacrifice and His Blood as forgiveness of sins, to His friends.  In this act of giving, I believe that to do this in His remembrance is to share His Body and His Blood with His friends, which are all the people in the world.  All of Jesus� messages through His Ministry act to share love with one another and to care for those in need.  His focal message in many of His teachings is to share His Love and His Faith to all those around us.  So during communion we should pray for the guidance of His Great Will so that our act of remembrance may honor Him.  We should pray that our act of remembrance honors Him not as the Catholic Church would have us pray but as God�s Will makes it.  And to truly honor Him we must do as He did and share His Body of Sacrifice and His Cup of Salvation with others by speaking of Him as we are all commissioned as His disciples.
