The 1701-C was the fourth starship to bear the Enterprise name. Her captain was Rachel Garrett.
The ship was lost with all crew aboard in 2366 after it answered a distress call from the Klingon's Narendra III outpost and was attacked by three Romulan warbirds. Even Though this event helped the growing trust beteen the UFP and the Klingon governments.
Later on, It was discoved that the battle had created a temporal rift that pulled the ship into a time line where its heroic death, which contributed to the war between the Klingons and UFP. The UFP was slowly lossing the war by 2366, when the USS Enterprise D discoved the past Enterprise. With help from 1701-D's Tasha Yar, the Enterprise-C went back throught the rift to its certain death. With being destroyed in its own time, the war was avoided and the UFP and Klingons became allies.
