The USS Enterprise, Starfleet registrey number NCC-1701-D, was a Galaxy class starship and the starfleet flagship. She was also the fifth starfleet vessel to bear the name Enterprise.
Her commanding officer was Captain Jean-luc Picard. With a total of forty-two decks, she was nearly two times the length of the Constitution class ships nearly a century before.
Her defensive systems were impressive. She had ten phaser banks, and a load of 250 torpedous. She also had a high capacity shield grid. She had a maximum speed of warp factor 9.5.
She was finally destroyed in 2371 during an attack by renegade Klingons when they breeched her warp core. The saucer section seperated before the exploxion, but the force of the exploxion caused it to crash on the planet of Veridian 111. The loss of life was minimal. |
