What is the final impression ? Bocelli is an excellent singer, specially well suited to Italian songs where he is, at present, without rivals. His voice is very beautiful, the timbre is distinctive and the voice has power when needed. But as to opera, it is another matter, Bocelli cannot sustain his voice, specially in the middle, for a long period, the voice looses support and it sounds frail and thin. And due to his physical limitations, a career as an opera singer sounds remote apart from concerts and recitals. However, given the current "crop" of tenors, he may have a career because despite his shortcomings, he has a way of words (he knows and feels what he's singing), a beautiful timbre, good high notes and a beautiful pianissimo; that makes him stand from the rest ! Alagna be careful :-)
