August 13th 2006: Brisbane City Council Municipal Band Auditions (Battle of the Bands) at City Hall, Brisbane
Three pieces were performed:
Movie Blockbusters
Someone Like You - Sung by Narelle Clark with musical support by S.E.Q Symphonic Winds (See image above).
Highland Cathedral - performed by the combined bands of S.E.Q Symphonic Winds band and the Ormiston Pipes Band.
All three scores were a pleasure to listen to and well performed.Results:
S.E.Q Symphonic Winds were awarded 3rd place overall. Some very positive comments were provided by the judges, particularly on our intonation, rhythm and tone.
The adjudicator thanked the S.E.Q Symphonic Winds for 'a good and secure performance'.
