For new Members, the membership fee becomes payable as of the completion of the four-week probationary period. These fees go towards Hall Hire, Insurance, and the purchase of equipment and music.

The uniform for ALL Bands includes black trousers/pants, black socks (or stockings or stockingettes for women) and black shoes. Members are required to provide these items.
In addition, the Big Band members wear a black microfibre shirt, which can be purchased by the member from a local clothing outlet. The Big Band uniform is completed with a yellow satin tie, which is provided by SEQSW free of charge.
Symphonic Winds members require two types of shirt, one for formal events and one
for casual.
For the Formal uniform, members also wear the black microfibre shirt. Male members of the Symphonic Winds also wear the yellow tie, while female players wear a scarf, which is also provided free of charge.
For the Casual uniform, members wear a coloured polo shirt. This is ordered by the Band Committee from a local supplier, and purchased by the member.
