If life were like the
movies...
Then it would be about
two hours long with a credit sequence at the end.
Let's face it, at the
end of the day there are a lot of bad films out there. They
might be blockbusters, they might be arthouse, they might be
'sleepers' or they might just be a plain old
middle-of-the-road type work. But they are still bad.
I should know. As a film
geek my tastes are slightly eclectic in that I'm a few levels
above the 'popcorn blockbuster' but far below the 'won't see
anything that isn't in a foreign language with subtitles'. So
I've sat through a lot of mainstream-to-not-so-mainstream
films, with varying degrees of enjoyment.
And although there have
been moments - although I laughed at Austin Powers' dance
routine and felt for Katherine when Valmont's diary got
distrubted round the school - it takes something very special
for a film to be so enjoyed by me that I want to talk about
it with others.
