| Lesson Plan: Soldier's Dilemma |
I put this activity together as an introduction to war literature. I actually had the opportunity to implement it in my graduate class and everyone seemed to enjoy it, so a secondary-level class should as well.

This development of this semester-long syllabus actually made me realize how much I enjoy creating lessons and developing curriculum that utilizes different skill sets and implements a variety of activities in the classroom. Note the use of audio throughout the classes.

| Unit Plan on World War II: My Grandfather's War |

| This is my most recently developed unit and it focuses on literature during World War II. There is such a depth of material available and a constraint of time in the classroom that was difficult to select texts to use for this unit. I would love to be able to implement Spiegelman's Maus or Zukerman's The Book Thief, among others. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| The development of curriculum for Psychology was the first class I ever taught. It was incredibly fascinating to see some of the questions students came up with throughout the year and it was a fabulous first teaching experience. I truly enjoyed developing every part of the curriculum and piquing students' interest in psychology. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Book Review w/ Lesson Plan Ideas: First Part Last by Angela Johnson |
Reading this book made me realize the importance of implementing relevant material for high school students. If we want them to read and to take something from a text, they must be able to relate to the material. Without that, we have no "hook" for reaching them and no way of involving them in the text.
| Sharon Creech is a staple author in many middle school classrooms, so it was only natural that I tried out one of her books for a graduate class. It is very suitable for middle school students, with a relatable protagonist and situations that are easy for students to comprehend and relate to. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Book Review w/ Lesson Plan Ideas: Old Man & the Sea by Ernest Hemingway |
While I did not personally enjoy this book, there were several reading and writing activities that can be implemented for students to enjoy the text.
