"The Unknown Origins of the Alley Cat"
July 2006

The Lament Company, directed by Derrick Woods,  put together in July 2006 another great show, called "The Unknown Origins of the Alleycat."  The Alleycat is a fictional bar, faithly recreated for this performance in the upstairs room of Planet Groove, on Mary Street, in downtown Waycross.  The Unknown Origins show traced the beginnings of the bar, and of the career of its owner, Freddie Spencer, portrayed by the powerful and very talented performer, Derrick Woods, who also directed of the show.  The story was told through songs, poetry, and acting, featuring the talents of Derrick Woods, Mary Beth Kennedy, Pamela Davis, Adam Waring, Lindsey Williamson, Ashley Bennett, Katie Roberson, and a very distinguished gentleman who plays the King of Sweden, whose true identity was mysteriously missing from the program.  In addition to the great singing and acting, there was instrumental guitar music by Dusty Moye, and some captivating, very well done, really mesmerizing belly dancing.  I hope that you were able to catch one of the wonderful performances of this show.  We certainly look forward to the next performance of the Lament Company at Planet Groove.  Keep up the good work, Derrick!
