Ashley Amos
What he does:
The news (and whatever we put him up to).
Ashely now has his own show, 'Bangers & Ash', but continues to do the news for us.
See my shrine to Ashley.

"I was cornered in the changing rooms by a rugby player. He pushed me up against the wall and said; 'You're dirty, you are' "

Here is a man with his finger on the pulse of civilisation, broadcasting each week from the farthest point from civilisation when he provides the URE news service during 'Seddonism' on Fridays 5-7pm. Where did this 'Peter Sissons in waiting' come from?

Well, as luck may have it, Ashley doesn't live far from Mr.Sissons, whose face is as well known in the Sevenoaks branch of Sainsburys as it is on TV! Being the second in a long line of two children, Ashley was born with hunger to know what was going on in the world. Mummsy had to keep him on straps to stop her curious son from running off; so powerful was his quest for news. He's still rumoured to wear straps at night, but we won't go into that because this is a family page! At URE we've found little can stand in the way of his all-conquering enthusiasm.

Prep school followed a formative education where the cane was still in active use, with memories of other children laughing at his maroon cap and blazer predominating flashbacks of the period. Then, there were the shorts... don't go there! A few exams later and the 'Big A' was at grammar school, where he rose to the position of PR representative! Impressive or what? But no, we will not allow Ashley's head to grow beyond its current size or he won't make it into studio 2.

Current aspirations include the wish to have his own show on URE and thus be let loose in studio 1 and a determination to play golf properly! Alex - the station manager - Gener aims to steer this fine fellow through the stringent URE DJ examination process!! After that, who knows? The skies not even beginning to look like the limit!
