We still have work to do

We are still facing the elimination of the corporate membership and voting rights. To work on this we want as many pink signs around the area as we can possibly get. People power can be enormous if used properly.

You can get signs in Perkinsfield at the corner of Balm Beach Road and County Road 6. . Also, we are doing deputations at all four local councils and need your help. Below there are links where you can download letters to all four councils. If you can print off the one for your municipality please do so and get as many people to sign the letters as you can.

Tiny Deputation is On October 27. Penetanguishene on October 29. Midland I believe on October 27 as well and I am not sure about Tay. You can get the letters back to any of the executive or take them to the Council meetings.

Midland        Penetanguishene         Tiny Twp.       Tay Twp.

We need your support.

Deputations in front of councils are much more valable when there are a lot of supporters in the audience. Please come out to your councils at the dates and times given.

Tiny : Monday, Oct. 27 at 9.45 am.
Deputation leaders: Claire Hanson, Diane Greenfield

Midland: Monday, Oct. 27 at 7.00pm.
Deputation leaders: Pat Taylor, Barb Simpson

Penetang: Wednesday Oct. 29 at 7.00pm.
Deputation leaders: Don Copping, Gord Wilson

Tay: to be announced.

If you live in Tay and are willing to present the issue to council please let us know. We have very few contacts in Tay and have been unable to organize a deputation. The good news is that the ground work has been done for the other municipalities and the package is available for pick-up. It's a matter of applying for a date and then presenting the issue to council.

If you have not signed a petition for council please do so. They can be dropped off at Liesje's office in Perkinsfield or brought to council at the time of the deputation.

Our deputation leaders deserve a vote of thanks. They have put a lot of time and energy into this tactic. They are going to the councils with a very positive message. HDH members, annual and life, represent a significant pool of support and resources for the new Board. We are there to stand behind the directors at a time of dwindling monies and program cutbacks. To alienate and eliminate us is to lose goodwill, financial support and skilled committee members. To disenfranchise us is to admit publicly that tax payers cannot be trusted to work for the good of their institutions.

Till the next time, keep the faith!
Elizabeth
