| The Game On Friday, June 28, 2002, I went my friend (who I'll keep anonymous) to the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs baseball game. Gotta love it. Chicago against Chicago. Southside against Northside. The game was awesome. The Sox creamed the Cubs 13 to 9. To some that score might not mean anything. But let me tell you, they proved they're a hardworking team. In the first innings the score was 0 to 8, Cubs winning. My friend's and my attempts of yelling "STEROIDS" at Sosa were not doing so well to throw off the odds. Sidenote: While walking around the Upper Deck, two guys were holding up a sign that read: "Sosa+Steroids=Homeruns". Hilarious to see. Little by little though the Sox caught up to the Cubs 8 homerun lead and surpassed them. White Sox player, Paul Konerko, was even hit in the head by a ball thrown by Woods. Konerko fell to the ground dazed. (who wouldn't) But later in the game Konerko came back undaunted for his" revenge". That is determination and loyalty to the team. It would have been a major shame for the Sox to lose at there own stadium. On there own turf, Comiskey Park. Frankily, the Cubs gave the game away. The Sox were down by 8! That's a hell of a lot. Face it: "CUBS SUCK!!"...or so I've heard.... |
