seaWolf ASV
News

Still here. The episode overview has actually turned out to be much harder than I thought to write, so it's coming along rather slowly. The Macronesian history section is coming along though, and I expect to be finished pretty soon. Also, I am preparing a new tech specs page for the largely-unknown Lysander fighter. Watch this space.

In general seaQuest news, I am pleased to report the release of a new version of the Atlantis ASV website. It's not quite finished just yet, but I have taken a sneak peek at the new design and content, and it looks amazing! This coincides with a site move - the Atlantis site can now be seen at http://atlantisasv.newcapequest.com/.

I have also received an interesting e-mail in the past few weeks. Whilst I must apologise to the sender for not replying as yet, it does have an interesting proposal that I intend to mull over during the summer.

Minor edits: Fixed the New Cape Quest forum link on the main page and a few others on the links page - for some reason, I never changed it after the move, some two years ago...

It has been a very long time. So, what has happened to seaWolf? Well, things have happened, quite simply. For the full detail, and the future direction and implementation of the series, you can read my fairly extensive statement of intent right here. Suffice it to say, seaWolf will be back, just perhaps not as you expected it to be.

Well, here it is - seaWolf ASV, version 2.0. The entire site has been torn down and rebuilt. Hopefully, this will be a lot easier to navigate and a lot faster as well. The old clunky MSWord pseudo-CSS has been junked, and we're on plain old HTML basics.

Hope you enjoy!

A New Years Letter:

Dear seaWolf fans,

Its New Years Eve, and a brief update on Version 2.0. Ive finally got a decent amount of time to work on the new pages (I started university back in September, which is why theres been no work on the site), so Im back into converting the old pages into clean HTML. Just to get an idea of how that cuts down on both your loading times, and my bandwidth, the old Main Page (including images) comes to 500kB space. The new page will come to around 20% of that at about 100kB. This also means we can include more content on the site, including multimedia files (look for music, video and images to come).

The site itself will be shut down from January 3rd so the old pages can be removed, and new content added. The new site will (hopefully) come up a day or two later, but will be incomplete. The Character and Technical sections in particular will only be 25%-50% complete. I will add new content as soon as I have written it.

As for new episodes, well, I literally have no free time whatsoever, and the next episode, Value Judgements is barely started. I will do my best to work on it in the few spare hours I have a week, but dont expect it anytime soon. If I do get it finished, however, the episode following, Deep Rising is already complete, and has been for about two years or so, so that would be out shortly after.

Heres hoping 2004 is a better year for seaWolf.

Yours,

Michael Warren
(creator/exec. Producer)

You know, there are some things Id never hoped Id have to write on this news page. This one never even entered my mind.

Jonathan Brandis, well-known to us as Lucas Wolenczak, died last Wednesday, November 12th, in his apartment in LA. He was 27.

There are no more words.

What do you mean, Where have I been? :)
Sorry about the long absence, folks, it has indeed been a while.
Well, Im here now, with some good news. There is an update! And its an episode update to boot!

Episode 1x08 Statements and Declarations is now available. Hopefully, this means I can recommence work on the series after such a long hiatus. Boy am I glad! Read the new episode here.

Other updates:
  • Index Page the Columbia memorial has been taken down. I hope that the space programme will continue to push back the boundaries of mankinds exploration of the stars.
  • The Main Page has been tidied a little. The forum link now redirects to the New Cape Quest forums. Ive removed the MIDI.
  • Some new images for the Trident-class seaLaunch.
  • The image mentioned in January 22nds news item has been traced to Will Kugler, who has kindly given his permission for it to be used on the site. Many thanks, Will. The image has replaced the old Excalibur image on the Tech page.
  • Links Page updated. Some links removed, one added.
In other ASV news:
  • Atlantis ASV episode II Shadows of the Phoenix has been released. Find it here.
And thats it! Enjoy, folks!

Another new fan fiction has been launched today. I am very pleased to welcome James Ward and Atlantis ASV to the fold.

In other news: I have found a picture that strongly resembles the Excalibur picture you have seen on the site. The mesh and skin design is very similar.

This is the picture (at 50%):

I would like to use it, but have no information as to copyright, etc. If anyone visiting this site recognises it as their work, please e-mail me, so I can properly credit its source.

The links page has been updated. New links to the New Cape Quest site and forums have been created.

The Excalibur Technical Specs page has been updated to include a preliminary design for the Excaliburs logo, which marks a departure from the traditional triangle design, and reflects more on the ships name. There is also a construction logo that has gone up on the seaWolf class page (thanks to James Ward for that). New pictures of the seaLaunch and the seaSpeeder are also now up.

I am pleased to announce the rebirth of seaFury ASV, a fanfiction project that has been a long time in the making. My good wishes and hopes to its creator, James Maxwell. James is also responsible for the new banner on this site, so, thanks, James!

The next phase will involve restarting work on Statements and Declarations, which, sadly, has been left in limbo for a while, so, my apologies.

I also intend to complete the Senior Officers portion of the Personnel section. Deriving detailed histories for even these main characters is taking quite a long time! Also, I will be getting out my digital camera again to show you the original design of the Archangel (in LEGO!) so expect to see some of those in the next few weeks

Some sad news to start the new year off.

Royce D. Applegate, known and loved by us as Chief Manilow Crocker in seaQuest Season One, died at his home on New Years Day in a housefire.
Our condolences to his friends and family. The story was broken here:

We have come through the long winter. Now the greater challenge awaits us

The dark times are over. Yesterday, at 12.34 GMT, my broadband connection was established, and a new era began.

The entire site is being updated and rewritten. The downtime for this should be complete by the time you read this. All available sections should be up. Any problems, broken links, etc, mail me at [email protected].

New sections include:
Additional technical information
Character bios
The Creative Background has been extended and new original images created.
New logos, and improved graphics.

Welcome to the future
