Habitat for humantity has been around for several years in the Seattle Area. It is associated with the construction of houses for the less fortunate in our community. Starting March 30 there will be new faces in this "area", " that is the new expansion team the Seattle Freeze. The the enitre Seattle Freeze team will be helping in an effort to build a house every two months for the entire season," says Coach Brian Sutter. Sutter also added that he hopes this will help the team come together on the common front of helping the less fortunate. If you wish to volunteer your services call 1-800-HABITAT.

The Seattle community faces a growing homeless population, "it has been growing at a rate of .09% a year since 1991," says Mayor Wheeler. The Seattle Freeze are trying to do their part to get the homeless back on their feet. The Seattle Freeze's home opener against the Colorado Avalnched is expected to draw a sell-out of about 85,000 people to the Starbucks Center and at this game all the proceeds from the tickets will be donated to the Seattle Homeless Organization, a nonprofit charity aimed at helping the homeless population of Seattle. Team owner Brad Hardy says,"the cash value of this donation will exceed $1.5 million."
