| Matthew Barnaby was brought to Seattle to help out fellow enforcers Tie Domi and Bob Probert. The Tampa Bay Lightning waived Barnaby at the end of the 2001-2002 season. The Freeze picked up Barnaby to make sure they had a strong 4th line to protect their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines. When asked about how he likes it in Seattle Barnaby answered, "This will be fun, I look forward to being on the 4th line. I feel as though I should be the productive 4th liner that will take responsible penalties and am going to keep away from retaliating while I'm in this organization, so that they may keep a good clean name. I look forward to bringing home Lord Stanley here in Seattle as well." |
