Reagan Ronald, a.k.a. Normal (played by J.C. MacKenzie), owns Jam Pony. Always ready to react to complaints with biting sarcasm, he isnt highly regarded by his employees. By that same logic, he isnt particularly fond of those he employs. Normal refers to his staff as slackers, weirdoes, bums, idiots and morons. Normal is a big fan of gentlemen's clubs and caged fights and Alec, a.k.a. Monte Cora, was his favorite fighter. As far as Normals love life, he doesnt seem to have one. The only woman the employees knew of was "Louise," who turned out to be a former male who told Normal she was a lesbian.

"All right. Perhaps I was unduly harsh calling you people idiots, when in fact youre morons. From the Greek moros, as in feeble-minded, or mentally defective, having an age of between eight and twelve, capable of doing menial tasks under supervision. Now get out of my sight! Or youre all fired."

Alec (played by Jensen Ackles) is an X5 who was chosen as Max's breeding partner at Manticore. When she refused to sleep with him, Alec didn't turn her in. He instead followed his orders to infect Max with a virus that can kill Logan. With Manticore destroyed, Alec uses his charm and keen sense of persuasion to get by. Alec is a pretty laid back kind of guy and lives up to his name, which Max gave him because she decided he was a "smart alec." He's always cracking jokes and trying to either run a scam or get over on someone. Not that Normal minds or notices. Afterall, he's Alec's biggest fan. While he's an ally of sorts to Max, the two have a brotherly-sisterly love-hate relationship that keeps things interesting.

"Somebody wanna come help out with the merman in here? I mean the guy's got nothin' to say. I'm gettin bored."

Herbal (played by Alimi Ballard) is the spiritual voice of reason to the Jam Pony gang. He's a Rastafarian, and gets his nickname from his philosophical nature and occasional consumption of weed. Herbal is a laid back kind of person who tends to let things "roll off him like water" except when it comes to his girlfriend. When he's not preaching to his friends or imparting a little wisdom, Herbal rides like crazy. At one point Normal almost named him employee of the week.

"Ja give every man him time to be flush in the sun."

Max (played by Jessica Alba) is a deeply cynical, genetically engineered teen. She was created in a lab in a secret government facility as part of Project Manticore. Max was one of 12 soldiers in the X5 division that escaped from her military handlers as a child. Max was separated from her siblings the night of the escape and she' s obsessed with trying to find her family, if any of them made it out. Max also has a habit of showing up to work late. Its a good thing her friends care enough to cover for her. Max has a little wiring problem in her head that causes her to have seizures. To stay off Manticores radar she gets medication that helps with her seizures on the Black Market. It aint cheap so Max uses her enhanced abilities to engage in grand larceny.

"Please tell me you're not one of those people--because a raindrop fell in the ocean 10,000 years ago and a butterfly farted in India, you and I are sitting right here right now enjoying a cup of coffee that tastes like goat piss. "

Cynthia McEachin, a.k.a. Original Cindy (played by Valerie Rae Miller), is Max's best friend. Street-wise, fearless, and a clear believer in the idea that there's no such thing as coming on too strong, she speaks her mind and knows how to handle herself in just about any situation. Even though O.C.'s a lesbian, she seems to be an authority on men, much to Max's amusement. Cindy, like Logan, is also among the few who can see through Max's detached exterior. O.C. is always there to comfort and reassure Max. After finding out Max was a transgenic O.C. became even more protective of Max.

Sketchy: "At least Normal knows who he is."
O.C.: "A constipated, crusty, angry, rhythm-free, Republican white man?"

Calvin Theodore, a.k.a. Sketchy (played by Richard Gunn), is the comic relief of the Jam Pony group. He's always looking to make a quick buck, worm his way out of trouble, or get close to the ladies. Sketchy's kind of clueless and his mouth often gets him in trouble. However, if Max ever needs a friend to come up with excuses for why she's late to work, Sketchy's ready with inventive ones. Besides being a bit of an airhead, and always taking advantage of a good situation, Sketchy's a wimp. Sketchy's flighty nature is evident in his relationship with his fianc Natalie. Sketchy made a delivery to a woman named Lydia, who was trapped in a loveless marriage. Sketchy became her sympathetic ear and things escalated. Lydia demanded Sketchy break up with Natalie or she'd do it for him. Realizing he's truly in love with Natalie, Sketchy asked Max for help.

"This other person isn't someone I'm in love with. In fact, after what she just did, she's not even someone I like much. So in a technical sense, I don't think you can call me and this other person cheating, officially."
