| Although the concepts behind
the new paradigm originated in the Physical Sciences
and are just now finding their way into the Social
Sciences, the humanities are also undergoing a
metamorphosis.
Art is sloughing the boundaries of temporality and sequence, and finding the natural impulse of a simultaneous, associative expression. It is particularly our traditional views of literature and narrative that have been changing with the invention of electronic formats. Specifically online hypertext has delineated the sequential reading of information--not only in browsing the Web, but in creating stories that decentralize a story's narrative.
