Question # 5: What Criteria Will God Use for
Judgment?

The 10
Commandments we can determine how were doing by
Gods standard by looking at the 10 Commandments.
Examine yourself honestly by these few

9th
Commandment: You shall not lie.
>
Have
you ever told 1 lie before?
>
If so,
then by Gods holy standard of You shall NOT lie,
that would make you a liar in His eyes (in the same
way that murdering 1 person makes someone a murderer
in our eyes).
>
Remember that God is not concerned with the size,
the color, or the reason for your liea lie is a
lie, period.

8th
Commandment: You shall not steal.
>
Have
you ever stolen 1 thing in your entire life? A few
dollars from your parents? A pencil, pen, or paper
clip from the office? Music from the internet?
>
If you
have ever cheated on a test, you stole an answer
from someone else.
>
If you
have ever lagged around at work, you stole time from
that employer.
>
Remember: even petty theft is still theft. Stealing
$1 is theft just as stealing $100 is theft.
>
By
Gods standard of You shall NOT steal, that would
make you a thief in Gods sight.

7th
Commandment: You shall not commit adultery.
>
Most
everyone claims that this is one of the commandments
they have kept, but according to Jesus, lust is the
same as committing adultery in your heart.
>
Have
you ever lusted after someone in your heart?
>
If so,
that would make you an adulterer in Gods holy eyes.

6th
Commandment: You shall not murder.
>
Jesus
says that even bitterness towards someone is the
same as committing murder in your heart. He even
goes on to say that anyone who calls someone else a
fool is in danger of hell fire (Matthew 5:22)
>
Have
you ever been bitter towards someone (maybe even to
the point that you physically or emotionally harmed
that person)?
>
If so,
that would make you a murderer by Gods standard.

3rd
Commandment: You shall not use Gods name in vain.
>
In
vain means uselessly or carelessly.
>
Have
you ever used the holy name of God in vain?
Examples include G.D, J.C, or Oh my G_ _.
>
Anyone
who uses Gods name in vain commits the sin known as
blasphemy (a sin God takes very seriously), and He
states that anyone who uses His holy name uselessly
will not be held guiltless (Exodus 20:7).
>
If you
have ever (even once) used Gods name in vain, then
that would make you a blasphemer before the burning
holiness of God.

God
has written His holy law on your heart to let you
know when you were doing something wrong (Romans
2:15). He calls this voice your conscience.

Con
(with) + Science (knowledge) = with knowledge, so
you have sinned with knowledge. Every time you
lied, stole something, or disobeyed your parents,
you knew it was wrong, and you will have no excuses
when you stand before God on Judgment Day.

James 2:10
says, For whoever keeps the whole law and yet
stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
According to this verse, breaking 1 commandment is
like breaking all 10 of them.

In
other words, we may not see telling a white lie as
bad as murdering someone, but we base that on a
human perspective. God is holy and His standard is
holiness, so breaking one commandment leaves us
guilty of breaking the whole law.
>
Think
about this: The speed limit is 45 m.p.h; you are
going 60 one day and 70 the next. Which time did
you break the speed limit?
>
A:
Both times! One might argue that going 25 over is
not as bad as going 15 over, but the fact remains
that both times you broke the speed limit, period.

By the
standard of the 10 Commandments, would you be guilty
of not guilty before God?

Every
preacher in America would be guilty, Mother Teresa
would be guilty, I would be guilty, and youd be
guilty as well.

In
fact, the 6.4 Billion people around the world would
be guilty, because the Bible says
>
There
is none righteous, not even one. (Romans 3:10)
>
For
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
(Romans 3:23)

Because we have chosen to break His standard, Gods
wrath abides upon us, not His love (John 3:36).

For
our guilt, we will have to spend an eternity in
hell, unless God has provided a way of escape
