Adding a Table.

A Table is a very good method that can be used in order to organise the layout of a web page.

To insert a table on a page, place the cursor on the row where the table is required and from the top menu line click on Table and then Insert Table.

The Insert Table dialog box will appear. Set the number of rows and columns required and then click OK.

To manipulate this table we now need the Table toolbar. To activate this toolbar click on View (from the top menu line) and click on Table Toolbar.

To change the size of the table cells move the cursor over the lines within the table. When the cursor changes to a double headed arrow, then these lines can be moved.

The pencil from the Table Toolbar can be used to add lines (and the eraser can be used to remove them).

From the Table Toolbar it is also possible to align the cursor to Top, Middle or Bottom, and also to add a background colour to a particular cell.

Images and text can now be added to any cell within the table.

To make the table invisible when viewed with a Browser the table Border size needs to be set to zero.

This is done by clicking with the right hand mouse button when the cursor is in a table cell, select Table Properties, and use the selection arrows to change the value in the Border Size box to zero.

In the Editor mode the border will still show as a dotted line.

The Table Properties box can also be used for changing other items such as the table alignment within a page, and border colours etc.
